Goemon's Great Adventure for the Nintendo 64 is a quirky 2.5D side-scrolling platformer that blends traditional Japanese folklore with surreal, offbeat humor. Released by Konami in 1999 (North America), it features a mix of standard platforming levels, 3D town exploration, and epic first-person mecha battles.

• 2.5D Gameplay: While the characters move on a 2D plane, the world is rendered in full 3D, allowing the path to wind through deep, vibrant environments.
• Playable Characters: You can play as four distinct heroes, each with unique abilities:
• Goemon: Uses a pipe and can double-jump.
• Ebisumaru: Attacks with a paddle and uses a megaphone to create physical platforms from words.
• Sasuke: A fast robot ninja who can throw bombs and swim underwater.
• Yae: A female ninja who can transform into a mermaid for fast underwater travel.

Storyline

The plot follows Goemon and his gang as they attempt to stop the evil time-traveling nun, Bismaru. Bismaru has stolen a "ghost return machine" to resurrect Dochuki, a demon prince of the underworld, with the bizarre goal of marrying him and taking over the Earth.
